Viscin dust arresters are designed to filter mechanical particles from dry non-aggressive gases and provide filtering fineness starting from 20 μm and find their application as a part of various skids and assemblies, such as startup and instrument gas treatment plants, booster compressor stations, block and gas pressure control valves.
The operation philosophy is having dust particles coming to the filter with gas flow pass through Rashig rings lubed with viscin oil and sticking to the ring once bumped at it. As pressure drop across the filter grows indicating contamination of its cartridges, the rings are usually washed with hot soda salt solution and lubricated with pure viscin oil. The filter body is single welded steel make.
